The Services and Facilities at Gosford are:

. Hospital Antenatal Clinics and Midwife Clinics.

. Birthing Suites. Each of the 9 birthing room has: an ensuite containing a shower and toilet, 1 room with a bath and also a portable bath, telephone and comfortable chairs, and centrally controlled radio. CD players are available for use. Beanbags, birthing balls, floor mats, mirror and birth stool are available for use. There is access to refreshment facilities.

. Maternity Ward for both antenatal and postnatal women

. Special Care Nursery for sick or premature babies.

Your options for care at Gosford are:

. The Hospital Antenatal Clinic (GANC) and the Risk Associated Pregnancy Clinic. Doctors and midwives provide antenatal care.

. Midwife Antenatal Clinic (MAC). Midwives provide continuity of antenatal carer for women.

. Community Midwives Program (CMP). A small team of midwives provide care during pregnancy, labour and birth, and after the birth of your baby (home visits).

. Midwifery Group Practice (MGP). A midwifery-led primary health care model for healthy women. You will have a primary known midwife within the midwifery group who will provide the majority of care throughout the pregnancy, birth and after the birth of your baby (home visits).

. Antenatal Shared Care with your General Practitioner (ANSC GP). After attending the GANC to book-in , you return to your GP for your care. The midwife will advise you when to return to GANC (usually at 36 weeks). If complications arise requiring specialist care, you will need to attend the GANC sooner.

. Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Strategy (AMIHS). A midwifery-led primary health care model for aboriginal women and women of aboriginal partners. You will have a primary known midwife and health care worker who will provide the majority of care throughout the pregnancy and postnatal period.

Gosford Outreach Obstetric Midwifery Antenatal Clinic- at Wyong (GOOMAC). Antenatal care with midwives and doctors for women living in the Wyong Shire and birthing at Gosford.
