About Warnervale Family & Community Centre

Warnervale Family and Community Centre aims to support parents, identify community issues and build a strong community through its support of children and families.

An information and referral service is offered, particularly to new residents, as are
two playgroups, parenting courses and leisure groups.

The centre also provides a program of community activities such as community barbeques and “Kids’ Craft in the Park”, which enables new residents to meet each other and connect with support and services in the area.

A full-time coordinator manages the centre with a huge team of volunteers who continue to be the backbone of its service.

The Centre has three main goals:

(1) To develop and pilot a community welcome initiative aimed at networking new and existing residents to help prevent social stress.

(2) To identify community issues in the growing Warnervale/Wadalba area, facilitate meaningful action on these issues, bring together and establish trusting networks that enable ongoing community-led development.

(3) To establish ownership and awareness around a community’s younger children where the common health and well being of those children is totally appreciated as intrinsic to a growing and strong community.

Families can self-refer or be referred by other organisations in the area.
