This cause is very close to my heart after we lost our first born daughter (Ameilia-Belle Josiah Crowther “Millie”) was stillborn in 2004. As you can imagine this was a completely devastating experience but with lots of support we now have happy memories of Millie’s birth and even her death and funeral. SIDS and Kids played a role in our healing by providing a memory booklet which hospital staff took photos and hand and foot prints etc.
`SIDS and Kids Hunter Region supports families who experience the death of their baby or young child during pregnancy, birth and infancy, through the provision of bereavement support, education, advocacy and the promotion of research.’. I share my experience on the night which is actually a very positive story of recovery and hope.
